Course Presentation
Speech Therapy is the science that cares for human communication, from listening to speaking, from voice to language, from feeding to swallowing, essential dimensions for autonomy, socialization, and quality of life.
The Speech Therapy program at UNESC arises from the community university's commitment to the real demands of the region and the society of Santa Catarina. Its educational proposal is aimed at preparing professionals capable of promoting health, preventing disorders, diagnosing changes, and rehabilitating functions related to communication and hearing, throughout all stages of the life cycle.
Throughout their education, students are invited to understand the human being in a holistic way, considering biological, psychological, social, and cultural aspects. The academic experience is marked by the integration of theory and practice from the very first semesters, by involvement in SUS services, schools, institutions, and communities, and by constant contact with real care situations.
