Justification

The evolution of technologies applied to Endodontics has provided increasingly predictable, conservative, and safe treatments, requiring constant updates for professionals. In this context, the course is justified by equipping participants to apply contemporary techniques and technological resources, promoting the enhancement of diagnosis, planning, and execution of endodontic treatment, with a focus on clinical excellence and better outcomes for patients.

General Objective

To introduce students to clinical practice with new technologies, providing a biological, safe, and effective treatment.

Specific Objectives

• To understand endodontic microanatomy;
• To learn about pathology and diagnosis in Endodontics;
• To diagnose lesions that mimic endodontic lesions;
• To comprehend endodontic treatment and new technologies (apical locators, digital radiography/tomography, ultrasound, laser);
• To understand the use of tomography in Endodontics;
• To plan endodontic treatment in three dimensions;
• Mechanized endodontic treatment from access to obturation (emphasis on molars);
• To learn root canal obturation techniques: thermoplastic technique (single cone).

Curriculum Content

[title-dropdown] Module 2 - Preparation of the root canal (emphasis on molars): endodontic access, endodontic instruments, odontometry and apical locators, manual preparation techniques with NITI, mechanized techniques (mechanized systems: rotary and reciprocating) in clinical practice; [/title-dropdown]

[title-dropdown] Module 3 - Obturation of the root canal: bioceramic and resin cements, thermoplastic technique and single cone technique in clinical practice. [/title-dropdown]
