The circle has always represented wholeness in all traditions. Here, it brings us truth in its entirety, as a manifestation of all areas of human knowledge;
Red represents life. Thus, we have truth and life in their totality. The two shades of green indicate the direction of the actions of this trilogy towards environmental issues, incorporating the realities of the individual, society, and the planet in its planetary and cosmological context.
The three points indicate the trinomial that constitutes the structural tripod upon which all other branches of university activities rest: Teaching, Research, and Extension.
The composition as a whole can evoke various images where movement and flexibility predominate. The rising sun over the waves of the sea. A bird in full flight. A ballerina or a dancer. A harmony of a classical step. A seed projecting from its plant capsule. A human being raising their arms in contemplation of Mother Nature or the cosmic reality in which they are inserted.
We can also evoke the quantum reality of the electron, which is sometimes a particle (circle) and sometimes a wave.
The circle can represent rationality, while the waves represent intuition and freedom; or, still, the two cerebral hemispheres that, activated synchronously, represent the human being in its wholeness and totality towards cosmic fusion.
According to the symbolism of the Mayans, as stated by Professor José Argüelles (PhD), two lines and a point are the graphic symbol that gives the spectral tone of Service; the action liberating the senses. But, above all, it represents Unesc and its mission where the concept of the environment must encompass individual self-knowledge and its relationships with society and the Cosmos.
