- Management
- The management led by Rector Luciane Bisognin Ceretta, elected in 2017, re-elected in 2021 and 2025 by the academic community, is based on the following principles: financial sustainability, innovation, academic excellence, internationalization, community participation, valuing people, respecting diversities, attention to students, the environment, and distance learning.
Teaching
The first and no less important dimension of Unesc is teaching. The University prioritizes quality education, investing in Elementary, Secondary, Higher Education, and Graduate Studies, offering quality infrastructure, qualified professors, equipment, and resources necessary for the academic community to rely on daily within the campus.
Research
Unesc encourages and strengthens the development of research at various levels of its operation, as a strategic way to ensure its consolidation as a University. The Institution understands science as extremely important for improving life in society. The scientific studies developed by professors and students at Unesc encompass areas such as Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Exact and Earth Sciences, Human Sciences, and Applied Social Sciences.
Extension
Extension projects involving professors and students develop activities in various municipalities in the South and the extreme region of Santa Catarina. Unesc's integration into the community is strongly realized through this initiative, which encourages academic involvement in discussing and addressing community demands. Extension at Unesc also includes sports and cultural activities and short courses.

Unesc College
By being part of the University context, students from the Elementary and High School levels at Unesc College utilize the Institution's extensive facilities. Thus, the focus is on learning in cultural, sports, and scientific areas, with free access to the library, all laboratories, and the sports complex of Unesc.
Undergraduate Programs
Unesc is a University rated 5 (the highest score) by the Ministry of Education (MEC). It offers undergraduate courses in various fields of knowledge, such as health, social and applied sciences, education, and sciences and technologies, providing both professional and human training to students. The courses feature well-planned curricula, highly qualified professors, equipped classrooms, and well-structured laboratories and learning spaces. Currently, Unesc offers undergraduate programs in face-to-face, distance, and hybrid modalities, including Bachelor's, Licentiate, and Technological degrees.
Postgraduate Programs
Since 1980, when the first lato sensu postgraduate courses were implemented at Unesc, more than 150 courses have been offered in this modality. Currently, there are specializations in the areas of Management, Health, Law, Education, Engineering and Technologies, and Multidisciplinary studies.
In 2002, the University launched its first master's program: Environmental Sciences, recommended by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes). In 2006, Capes approved the Institution's first doctoral program: Health Sciences. Currently, the Institution also has master's programs recommended by Capes in Education, Health Sciences, Law, Materials Science and Engineering, Socioeconomic Development, and Public Health (Professional Master's). The University also offers doctoral programs in Environmental Sciences, Education, Materials Science and Engineering, and Socioeconomic Development.
Iparque
The Unesc Science and Technology Park (Iparque) is one of the largest initiatives of its kind in Santa Catarina. It has three institutes, a business incubator, and dozens of laboratories that provide services to institutions and companies throughout Brazil, involving professors and students from the University in scientific research, thus contributing to the training of new professionals, regional development, and improving the quality of the environment and life.
Innovation Agency
The Innovation Agency (Aditt) promotes the connection between the University's potential and the demands of society. It seeks to attract resources and transfer technology for regional development and the sustainable development of the Institution.
Unesc International
The Office of International Relations is responsible for guiding and monitoring partnership actions, agreements with foreign educational institutions and organizations, as well as national entities that promote international cooperation, administrative activities, and disseminating information within the academic community regarding agreements, exchanges, courses, internships, scholarships, and programs from foreign governmental and non-governmental institutions.
Environment
Concern for the environment and the execution of activities, including partnerships with companies and public agencies, are part of the Institution's daily routine. In the environmental area, Unesc carries out extension projects in neighborhoods in the region and engages in discussions with society. Unesc also has the Commission for the Environment and Human Values, which develops actions such as the Week of Environment and Human Values.
