How many graduates will be able to give a speech at the graduation ceremony?

There will be only one speech and one speaker representing the students at each ceremony, on behalf of all graduates, during which references are made to parents, friends, teachers, and others. There is also the text of the oath, for which the course coordinator is directly responsible, as they have the role of safeguarding the symbol of the course during the graduation ceremony.
The speeches should last a maximum of five minutes.

Who else gives a speech at the graduation?

In addition to the class speaker, the patron and the rector, or their representatives, will also speak in the form of a speech. After the rector's address, no further speeches will be allowed, except by the master of ceremonies.

What is the role of the oath-taker?

The oath-taker is the graduate chosen by the class who will pronounce the oath during the graduation ceremony. In the case of undergraduate degrees, there should be only one oath-taker.

What is pronounced in the oath?

The oath reflects the solemn moment in which the professional, at the peak of their training, freely but emphatically affirms their complete dedication to the principles of the profession and total respect for its technical, legal, and moral values. When choosing the oath-taker, care should be taken to select a colleague who has good diction, verbal fluency, is confident, and enjoys speaking in public.

Who should be the class speaker?

The class speaker should be a responsible person capable of crafting a speech worthy of the ceremony's significance. The graduates will choose their speaker from among themselves. It is recommended that the chosen individual present the speech to the class in advance for approval, as they will be speaking on behalf of everyone.

What should a good speech include?

A good speech should encompass a series of procedures carried out by the speaker:

  • greet the head table, faculty, students, and guests;
  • talk about classmates;
  • discuss ideals;
  • address expectations;
  • speak about the development of the course (beginning, middle, and end);
  • reflect on the current moment;
  • express feelings of achievement upon receiving the diploma;
  • talk about the next steps after leaving college;
  • make acknowledgments;
  • conclude and end the speech.

What should the patron's speech be like?

The patron, when giving a speech, should avoid straying from the theme that surrounds this festive moment, which is so important for the graduates. In the speech, they should emphasize the importance of the graduates' profession in society, wishing them success in the new stage of their lives.
